What does it take in your state? Get the dated checklist.

Pick your state and your education level. The wizard reads your board's own rules from the licensing atlas and returns exactly what you need: the Administrator-in-Training (AIT) hours that apply to your degree, which exams you sit, the license fee, and the renewal cycle. Every line is stamped with the date it was checked and links to its source. Free, no signup, no email.

Your situationStep 1 of 1

Only states verified against their board appear here. Yours missing? The atlas is still expanding, and the wizard says so plainly rather than guessing.

Some states reduce Administrator-in-Training hours for a qualifying degree.

Choosing yes shows this state's reciprocity path instead of the first-license checklist.

Every line is resolved live from the dated licensing atlas
Pick your options and select Show my checklist. Each figure links to the exact board page it came from, with the date it was checked. If your state is not yet in the atlas, the wizard says so rather than guessing.
Note

Your inputs never leave your browser

The wizard runs entirely on your device. Your state, degree, and answers are not sent anywhere and there is no account to create. We receive only anonymous, aggregate counts, for example which states are checked most often and the rough education mix, never your individual selection. See the privacy page for the full detail.

How it works

Where each line comes from

  1. You pick a state and a degree tier. These are bounded menus, not free text, so the wizard maps your answer to a verified row in the licensing atlas.
  2. It resolves your Administrator-in-Training hours. Where a state lowers the hour requirement for a qualifying degree, the wizard shows the pathways your education actually opens rather than a single blurred range.
  3. It lists your exams. The national NAB CORE of Knowledge and Nursing Home Administrator Line-of-Service exams appear for every state; a separate state law or jurisprudence exam is added only where that state requires one.
  4. It dates every line. Each fee, hour count, and exam requirement carries the date it was last checked against the board and a link to the source, so you can verify it yourself.
FAQ

About this tool

Is the wizard really free, with no signup?

Yes. There is no account, no email capture, and no paywall. The wizard runs in your browser and shows your full checklist ungated. We sell no course, so there is nothing to upsell you into afterward.

What if my state is not listed?

Then the wizard tells you plainly that your state is not yet verified, rather than inventing an answer. A state appears only once its facts are confirmed against its own board and dated. The atlas expands as more states are checked, so a missing state today may be listed later.

Can a chat assistant not just tell me this?

It can give you a national-sounding answer, but it cannot reliably pin your exact Administrator-in-Training hours, your state's added exam, and your current fee to your specific board with a date. The wizard resolves those from a maintained, dated table, which is exactly what a general answer tends to blur across states.

I already hold a license elsewhere. What should I use?

Choose "Yes, I hold an out-of-state license" and the wizard shows the target state's endorsement path. For a full side-by-side, open the reciprocity checker, which reads whether your national exam transfers, whether a state exam is still required, and the fees and continuing education to expect.
