Instrument 03
Can your license move? Check the endorsement path.
Pick where you hold a license and where you want to work. The checker reads the target board's own endorsement rule from the dated atlas: whether your national exam transfers, whether the target still requires its own exam, and the fee and continuing education to expect. Free, no signup, no email.
Only states verified against their board appear here.
What the checker reads
- It reads the target state's rule, not the source state's. Endorsement is decided by the state you are moving TO, so the checker resolves the target board's endorsement or reciprocity rule from the dated matrix.
- It tells you what still applies. Whether the national NAB exam you already passed transfers, whether the target still requires its own state exam, and the fee and continuing education you should expect.
- It dates every line. Each fact links to the target board page it came from with the date it was checked, so you can confirm it before you apply.
About this tool
Does my national NAB exam transfer?
In general the national NAB CORE and Nursing Home Administrator exams are recognized across states, so you usually do not retake them. What varies is whether the target state adds its own law or jurisprudence exam and how it runs endorsement. The checker shows the target state's rule with a dated source.
Why only two states in the menus?
Because the checker only compares states whose rules are verified against their board and dated. It will not assert a reciprocity fact it cannot source. The menus grow as the atlas expands, and a pair with an unverified state returns an honest "not yet verified" answer.
Is endorsement the same as reciprocity?
Close, but not identical. Most states license out-of-state administrators by endorsement: you apply with your current unrestricted license and meet the target's conditions, rather than an automatic mutual recognition. The checker shows the exact rule and conditions the target board publishes.
